DESCRIPTION
What do you get when you come to see me? Imagination, skill, professionalism, maturity, an active sense of humor, and the best I have to give.
Every session is unique. You and I will determine what you most want to get out of your session and then I'll apply all my skills and experience to help you achieve that.
Do you need to soften muscles? Untie knots? Relax? Give your soul and nervous system a break? Open and align chakras? Stretch tight body parts? Open up joints? Get a little relief from the challenges of pregnancy? Just have an hour where you don't have to answer a phone or even talk if you don't want to?
We can fashion a session that meets the needs you have (even if you have more than one!).
I love anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. The human body fascinates me. I am intrigued by how it continually adapts to its environment, heals itself, and by how beautifully it's designed. I am also now delving into the energetic side -- chakras, auras, etc. My drive is to integrate the two sides.
I am especially drawn to working with people in transition. Pregnancy. Career changes. Marriage. Divorce. Relocation. Aging. Family reshaping (empty nests, aging parents, etc). Grief. Menopause. My massage room is a place where you can be free to be confused, angry, sad, lonely, questing, whatever you need to be.
I appreciate the opportunity to work with people learning to live with chronic conditions. Fibromyalgia. MS. Lupus. Rheumatoid arthritis. Parkinsons, Diabetes. When you and your body are not playing well together, call me. I'll see if I can get you talking to each other again.
I have been practicing since 2000. I'm quite active in the local massage community and I bring an intense respect for my profession and a high regard for professionalism to the table. I teach at my alma mater -- Potomac Massage Training Institute -- and tutor and mentor new graduates.
I'm part of a group practice -- I Street Massage -- in downtown DC. I love working in a cooperative environment. Being one of the most experienced therapists in my practice, I also enjoy functioning as a mentor. For you, the group practice means that if I'm not available or don't have quite the skill set you need, I have immediate access to people I can refer you to.
If we don't have the skills you need in our office, I'll happily refer you to another professional. I would always rather have you get a massage from someone else than not get a massage.
I'm afraid I don't do outcall (home visit) appointments except in special circumstances. However, I can refer you to other massage therapists who do.
It's easiest to reach me by e-mail but you can also reach me by phone (if you're willing to play a little phone tag!). Please contact and let's see what I can help you with.

TESTIMONIALS
"I found myself in the fifth month of my pregnancy trying to cope with increasing aches and pains, which made walking and going to work difficult. I found your website one day, when I was at the end of my rope. I was miserable and I was at my worst, having difficulty walking from sciatica. I called and your were able to fit me in right away.
You quickly found the source of my pain and relieved it. I was hooked. You were able to reduce swelling, ease pain, and help me to manage my body's reaction to the change it was going through.
Your massages helped me to cope with a difficult pregnancy and they allowed me to keep working and have a healthy pregnancy. I have also enjoyed massage post-pregnancy and it made me feel like a new woman.
Thanks for helping me and my body through its recent challenges!" - Andrea W.
"Kelly's massages improve not only my physical well-being but my mental health as well. Her soothing touch has helped keep me healthy and has seen me through the happy but stressful past few years when I got married, moved houses, and had a baby. Now the massage therapy helps me manage the physical, mental and emotional challenges of raising a toddler. Motherhood means making sacrifices, but giving up massages is a sacrifice I refuse to make!" - Leeann H.
"I just wanted to drop a note and say that my wife and I have greatly enjoyed being regular customers of yours for the past year or so. We find the personalized attention you give us particularly valuable in relieving the various aches and pains imposed on us by stress, working out and/or our stationary workday. Regular massage therapy has been very helpful to us and we couldn't think of a better person to provide that service." - Matt L.
